Janice Byer is a life-time Artist, a graduate of The California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland California and illustrator of successful children’s books including ‘Henry the Great Blue Heron’, ‘Crunchy Carrots’ & ‘Baby Carrots’ all by author Sondra Perry, as well as ‘#empowered: A Gratitude & Affirmation Journal’ by Pamela Grimm.
Janice has taught watercolor at the Iron Horse Middle School through their Artist in Residence Program, ‘How to Draw’ at the former Amsterdam Art Store in Berkeley, CA, and, through a California Arts Grant, taught ceramics at The East Oakland Youth Development Center in Oakland, CA.
Watercolor and oil are Janice’s mediums of choice. Janice was a member of the Alamo Danville Artists’ Society, founded by Artist Beth Batchelor, and has participated in Plein Air art in several ‘Scene on the Strait’ art shows. She has exhibited her work at the Epperson Gallery in Crockett, CA, Pro Arts Open Studios in Oakland, CA, Gallery Valerie in Crockett, CA, and often has exhibited her art at Jessel Gallery in Napa, CA, The Little Art Shop in Benicia, CA and Flowers Fresco in Crockett, CA.
